Multidisciplinary Artist.
Poet.
documenting the strange experience of being alive.
Selected Works
I create across poetry, painting, sculpture and found material, exploring confluence: what happens when seemingly separate things meet and the boundaries between them begin to shift.
I’m interested in unstable edges — between body and landscape, language and object, the natural and constructed — and in what emerges when one thing interrupts, alters or remakes another.
My own body is part of that process. Disability makes precision and control unreliable, so accident, adaptation and interruption are allowed to become part of the work.
N.D. Rivers
N.D. Rivers is an interdisciplinary artist and poet interested in confluence: what happens when seemingly separate things meet, and the boundaries between them begin to shift. Her work repeatedly brings body into landscape, language into object, and natural material into constructed worlds.
Working with unstable boundaries through a body that makes the creative process itself unstable, Rivers allows disability and chronic illness to interrupt precision, repetition and control. Rather than concealing these interruptions, she allows them to alter the work. Accident, adaptation and interruption become part of her creative practice rather than evidence of its failure.
Her practice in integrative somatic informs an embodied approach to making, with particular attention to sensation, memory and the ways experience is held within bodies and places.
Working with words, light, natural fragments and ordinary materials, she creates odes to landscapes, bodies and stories — preserving small things, building tiny worlds and finding magic in the ordinary.
For You
A canvas reproduction of an original N.D. Rivers painting, where mountains rise in impossible blues, soft pink stone catches the light, and the landscape folds into its own reflection.

“A girl stands barefoot
among ancient things,
surprised to find herself
among them.”
Among Ancient Things brings together an original N.D. Rivers landscape painting and poetry in a piece designed to be worn, rather than simply hung on a wall.
The back features a reworked fragment of the original mountain painting — blue peaks, dark forest, reflected water and a small gold sun — accompanied by an excerpt from the poem. A smaller mountain-and-sun motif sits at the front, making the piece feel considered from both sides.
Created from my original artwork and writing, then printed individually to order.
