Fine Art Print / Canvas Print of an original mixed-media work by N.D. Rivers
Where the Water Interrupts explores the shifting boundary between land and water — a place that exists because neither element is permitted to remain entirely separate from the other.
Built through layers of paint and texture, the work follows the meeting of blue water and warm, earth-toned land. A raised shoreline runs between them: not quite a border, but a place of continual interruption, erosion and exchange.
The piece forms part of my wider exploration of confluence — what happens when seemingly separate things meet and begin to alter one another.
Originally created as a tactile mixed-media painting, this reproduction retains the visible marks, ridges and imperfections of the original surface.
