Catching Light

2026 · crystal, glass, metal & sunlight

I started making suncatchers because I wanted rainbows in the house.

That really was the entire intellectual framework.

Then I became fascinated by what happened when an object stopped being the artwork and became a way of altering the space around it.

A small arrangement of crystal and metal hangs quietly near a window.

Then the sun moves.

Suddenly there are fragments of colour travelling across walls, furniture, hands, floors.

The object hasn't moved.

The room has.

FIELD NOTE

I made an object.
The sun finished it.
