FIELD NOTE

The forest doesn't calm me down.
It lets me loose.

The Woods Keep Calling

Devon · 2026 · walking, play & field practice

I feel different in the forest.

Lighter.

There is something about being surrounded by things that are growing wherever they can that makes me want to do the same.

I climb things.
Balance on fallen trees.
Follow paths simply because I haven't followed them before.
Touch moss.
Look under things.
Get muddy.

I play.

And strangely, this is also where I feel most at peace.

Not the kind of peace that asks me to become quiet or small.

Something wilder than that.

A feeling of being completely here.

The forest gives me permission to be both things at once:

feral and peaceful,
restless and present,
grown woman and muddy-kneed child.

Perhaps that's why I keep returning.

Not to escape my life.

To feel more alive inside it.

Make it stand out

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
